Are you wondering how to correct your date of birth on NYSC dashboard online? Sometimes, errors can occur during the NYSC registration process, such as incorrect date of birth or course of study.

You have the option to change your date of birth or course of study on the NYSC online portal dashboard. This dashboard serves as the platform where National Youth Service Corps members can rectify errors in their date of birth.

During the online registration process on the NYSC portal, many prospective corps members tend to make mistakes with their date of birth or course of study. To correct these errors, you can use the “change of date of birth” or “change of course of study” feature on the NYSC portal login dashboard.

It’s crucial to ensure accuracy in your date of birth on the NYSC discharge certificate, as it includes important details such as your full name, NYSC certificate and Call-Up number, as well as the year of service. Any mistake in your date of birth on the discharge certificate can negatively impact your chances of employment and appointment to political offices.

In this article, I will guide you through the simple steps to apply for a change of date of birth and course of study on the NYSC portal.

What is the NYSC Age Requirement?

To be eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), prospective corps members must be below the age of thirty (30). If an individual is above the age of thirty (30), they cannot register for the NYSC and will instead receive the NYSC exemption certificate.

Obtaining the NYSC exemption certificate does not have any disadvantages. It simply indicates that the individual is exempted from the mandatory youth service.

When it comes to mobilization for the NYSC orientation camp, the date of birth on your JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) and WAEC (West African Examinations Council) certificates is used by the NYSC.

If you wish to lower your age to meet the NYSC requirements, the only way to do so is by changing your date of birth on the JAMB portal through a process called regularization. Additionally, you need to update your age with your school’s senate committee.

By going through the regularization process and updating your age with the necessary authorities, you can ensure that your date of birth aligns with the NYSC age requirement for youth service.
